TESTIMONIALS
“My son began receiving tutoring services through Reading Quest when he was in third grade.  He has grown immensely not only in his reading skills, but also in his confidence. When he attends Reading Quest he is respected, nurtured, and loved. I will never be able to fully express in words what Reading Quest means to me and my family. Lorenzo has now graduated from Reading Quest. When I think back to his third grade year, and how he could not read a single sentence on his own, I can almost feel the heavy weight of worry that had settled in my heart. I had wondered what his future would look like and if it would be kind to him. Today I can say with certainty that Lorenzo’s future looks extremely bright and full of possibility!  He is now reading to learn and he’s learning so much these days. Lorenzo is confident in his classroom and is a friend to many. His teachers always tell me that he is kind and always willing to help others. Being in the Reading Quest program not only taught him how to become a successful reader, it also nurtured his natural ability to show kindness, patience and empathy.  I know that Lorenzo will be more than ok, as he continues to grow and learn.  As his mother, that’s more than enough and my heart is full."
-Amanda Mendez, Reading Quest Parent

Our partnership with Reading Quest over the last 3 years has been life-changing for our students. Reading Quest has a phenomenal tutoring program at our school that delivers real results for students. Last year, our Reading Quest students averaged 47 points of ISTATION growth in 1st and 2nd grades and 36 points of growth in 3rd - 6th grade on state IMSSA testing. These results mean that our most vulnerable students are making real and measurable gains in reading skills.
Reading Quest also provides professional development and support for our teachers. This is a LOCAL organization that is essential for our community.

"As the long-time Intervention Coordinator at Santo Domingo Elementary School (Kewa Pueblo), I have used Reading Quest's engaging strategies and research-based resources for many years, and my students have grown exponentially. I was thrilled this year that our school was able to bring in Reading Quest tutors to work directly with students and further advance literacy development at our site and help struggling or reluctant readers become fluent and enthusiastic readers, I wholeheartedly recommend Reading Quest and its tutors!"

When I was in 2nd grade, I was embarrassed because my reading level was a lot lower than what it should have been. Then, I started with Reading Quest and when each session ended, I was so upset and I wanted it to start over again and relive it. Each time I was so excited to read harder and harder books. It was a real accomplishment for me each time I was able to level up. I’m thinking I’ll eventually become governor and then I might want to be a teacher after that. I just graduated from Reading Quest and it’s still impacting my life.
Now it’s so great to see that I can help other kids who were at my level and will later level up like me. It’s an amazing program that really helped me learn. It’s also free which helps kids whose families can not afford tutoring."
-Camila Marquez-Rico, Mandela, 7th grade

I am writing this letter on behalf of Reading Quest. To begin, I first discovered Reading Quest when I was seeking help for my students who were two to three grade levels behind in reading.  After receiving tutoring from Reading Quest, my students became stronger readers and more confident learners.
Now, my own child attends weekly tutoring from Reading Quest. It has helped him develop confidence as a reader. Reading Quest makes reading magical and attainable for struggling readers. He looks forward to his weekly tutoring and loves to read thanks to Reading Quest.
This service is needed for so many students in Santa Fe. Literacy is a social justice issue. If a student cannot read, he or she becomes very limited in life. We have an obligation to our community to support literacy for all students! Please support our students and support Reading Quest !

Learning to read in a safe, playful and supportive environment
Our Reading Center is like a second home for many of our students.  We provide a fun and safe place for children to learn how to read through one-on-one tutoring and creative games, using effective structured literacy tools and methods, some of which you can explore on our Resources Page.

Our Reading Specialists
are well trained in multi-sensory, explicit reading instruction and are provided continuing professional development on cultural sensitivity, anti-racist teaching, social emotional and trauma sensitive instruction and growth mindset strategies. Our tutors work mainly one on one with each student and create an individualized reading program that meets each student's specific reading needs and honors their strengths and potential.
Our daughter, currently in 3rd grade, started the Reading Quest program with her reading level two grades below.  Within 5 months, she reached a 5th and 6th grade reading level.  She got hooked from the very beginning, as the learning environment is supportive and fun.  The tutors are great.   ~ A happy parent
Reading Quest has done wonders to help both of our children to excel in reading. When they started the reading program at the beginning of the school year, they both struggled with reading. Within one year our daughter Genisis is reading at or above grade level. And our son Benjamin is slowly progressing but with such an amazing improvement from when he started. I want to thank Ms. Dineen and her staff for all they have done to help my children excel in reading.
