What we offer

Tutoring

Our adult and teen tutors support over 450 students weekly in grades 1-8 each week during the school day at Santo Domingo, Ohkay Owingeh and Cochiti Elementary Schools, Ranchos and Enos Garcia Schools in Taos, Rio Gallinas School for Ecology and the Arts in West Las Vegas, Turquoise Trail Charter school, and schools in Santa Fe. We also provide tutoring afterschool and weekends at our Reading Quest Center. Our programs are free for Title 1 students or offered on a sliding scale. We also partner with Native American Student Services, Adelante Program for Homeless Youth, the Newcomer program and Communities in Schools.

Reading is Magic Camps

 Our three, two-week long 'Reading is Magic' summer camps are very popular and successful programs.  On average, participating students improve their reading skills by one full grade within two weeks. Campers in need of intensive, engaging summer support are referred by their teachers.
We also support other communities to provide their own Reading is Magic Camp programs!

Professional Development

Our Senior Staff provide trainings for tutors, parents, teens and teachers throughout the year.  We offer workshops and coaching in Santa Fe , Bernalillo, Taos, West Las Vegas and Oklahoma in person, as well as online.
